The Real Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines

Directed by Charlie Russell, this film follows three teams of obsessive microlight enthusiasts who navigate their way across Britain armed with a map and compass, as part of the Round Britain Microlight Rally. Sleeping under the wing, and doing their best to keep their aircraft in one piece – while at the same time clocking up more miles than everyone else.

Antony Woodward (Author of the excellent ‘Propellerhead’ book, described by Pilot magazine in May 2011 as ‘one of the best books about flying ever written’), teams up with his former flying instructor Will Knowles to take part in the prestigious ‘Round Britain Rally’ last summer-15 years after he crashed in Scotland whilst taking part in the event back in 1996.
