Brass Against : Horny Metal

Brass Against is a brass Cover band based in New York City, known for their politically charged covers of popular rock and rap songs. The band was formed in 2017 by Brad Hammonds, and has since gained a following for their unique blend of brass, rock, and hip-hop music.

The band’s name is a play on words, referring to both the brass instruments they use in their music and their desire to take a stand against social and political injustices.
Brass Against has gained notoriety for their covers of songs by artists such as Rage Against the Machine, Tool, and System of a Down, among others. Their cover of Rage Against the Machine’s “Killing in the Name” went viral in 2018, and has since been viewed millions of times on YouTube.

The band has released several EPs, including “Brass Against” (2018), “Brass Against II” (2019), “Brass Against III” (2021) and “Brass Against III” (202xxxxxxxxx). They have also toured extensively, playing at venues and festivals across the United States and Europe. Sophia Urista, the current lead singer brings that sound of Rage Against the Machine one step closer and together with the sound of the brass instruments it is a quite wonderful covers collaboration.
